Best Things to Do in Busan

More about visiting Busan

Busan, South Korea’s great coastal metropolis, is a dynamic destination where beaches, temples, seafood markets, mountains, and modern city life meet along the southeastern coast of South Korea. Often considered the country’s most scenic large city, Busan offers a more relaxed and maritime atmosphere compared to Seoul, while still delivering excellent culture, nightlife, shopping, and gastronomy.

The city is famous for Haeundae Beach, Gwangalli Beach, and the dramatic coastal setting of Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, one of Korea’s most beautiful seaside temples. Travelers can also explore Gamcheon Culture Village, known for colorful hillside houses and art installations, or visit Jagalchi Fish Market, the country’s most iconic seafood market.

Busan’s food culture is one of its major highlights. Fresh seafood, Korean street food, spicy fish stews, hotteok pancakes, milmyeon cold noodles, and market dishes make the city a paradise for travelers interested in authentic Korean flavors. Its port identity and coastal geography give Busan a culinary character distinct from inland destinations.

Beyond beaches and markets, Busan is also known for festivals, film culture, hiking trails, modern malls, and scenic viewpoints. Whether visiting for beach relaxation, Korean culture, seafood, or coastal landscapes, Busan is one of the most rewarding destinations in East Asia.
