Spring, from March through May, is one of the most rewarding periods to experience Capri. March can still bring cool evenings, wind, and occasional rain, but April and May generally offer mild temperatures, blooming vegetation, longer daylight hours, and increasingly reliable ferry schedules. Walking routes such as the Pizzolungo trail, the Gardens of Augustus, and paths around Anacapri are especially enjoyable before the intense summer heat arrives. Easter and long holiday weekends can still bring high demand, so accommodation should be booked early.

Summer, from June through August, is hot, sunny, and extremely busy. July and August bring the highest temperatures, most frequent boat excursions, busiest ferry terminals, and greatest demand for hotels, restaurants, beach clubs, and Blue Grotto visits. Midday sunshine can be intense on exposed trails and viewpoints, so visitors should plan outdoor activities early in the morning or later in the afternoon. Autumn, from September through November, begins with warm weather and sea temperatures that often remain suitable for swimming. September is one of the best months for combining beaches, boat trips, and sightseeing with slightly smaller crowds than peak summer. October can still be pleasant, although rainfall and wind become more likely. By November, ferry schedules and tourism services may be reduced, and some seasonal hotels, restaurants, and beach clubs begin to close.

Winter, from December through February, is mild but noticeably quieter, with cooler temperatures, increased rainfall, stronger winds, and a higher possibility of ferry disruption. Many businesses operate on reduced schedules, and the island feels far more local than during summer. Winter can suit travelers seeking solitude, photography, and peaceful walks, but it is less reliable for boat-based activities. The best overall times to visit Capri are generally May through early June and September through early October, when the weather is warm, ferry services are frequent, and the island is less crowded than in July and August.
